Database Engineer

The GCP Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, managing, optimizing, and supporting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) database services. The role requires deep technical expertise across Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, MemoryStore, and strong SQL proficiency. The engineer will ensure database performance, security, availability, and compliance while supporting cross-functional teams with scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize GCP database services including Cloud SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server), Cloud Spanner, and MemoryStore.
• Create, configure, and maintain Memorystore Redis instances for caching and low-latency data access.
• Monitor database health, performance, and availability while proactively diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization to enhance query speed, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues and analyze data trends for continuous improvement.
• Implement robust database security measures including encryption, access controls, and industry-standard compliance policies.
• Partner with data engineers, architects, and project teams to design and deliver scalable database solutions.

Additional Desired Skills

• Knowledge of BigQuery for large-scale analytics and data warehousing.
• Relevant GCP certifications such as Professional Cloud Database Engineer.
