Database Architect

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administer and maintain multi-tenant MySQL databases hosted on AWS Cloud.
2. Review database-related pull requests from developers for schema modifications and updates.
3. Monitor, analyze, and optimize SQL queries and indexes to enhance database performance.
4. Partner with DevOps and development teams to support application needs and deployment workflows.
5. Ensure the implementation and regular testing of database security, backup, and disaster recovery protocols.
6. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with diverse, globally distributed teams.

Requirements:

1. Demonstrated experience (20+ years) as a MySQL Database Administrator in cloud environments, with a preference for AWS.
2. Practical experience in query optimization, schema design, and performance tuning.
3. Proficiency with tools such as RDS, Aurora, CloudWatch, and CI/CD pipelines.
4. Solid understanding of multi-tenant architectures.
5. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Experience working comfortably with remote teams spanning various time zones and continents.
7. Ability to manage a team of data engineers.
