Database Installation & Maintenance
- Install, configure, upgrade, tune, and maintain Oracle databases across production, development, and test environments.
- Ensure database availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
Database Development & Security
- Create and maintain application database objects such as tables, indexes, and views.
- Manage database security by granting and revoking user access and privileges as required.
Incident & Outage Management
- Participate in application outage incidents to ensure database integrity and restore functionality in a timely manner.
- Assist in root cause analysis and preventive measures for recurring issues.
Backup & Recovery Management
- Participate in the creation, execution, and maintenance of database backup jobs.
- Ensure data protection and support recovery activities when required.
Disaster Recovery (DR) Operations
- Configure and maintain Disaster Recovery environments.
- Handle synchronization issues and perform DR flip activities during planned or unplanned events.
Performance Tuning & Impact Analysis
- Provide proactive input on design constraints, performance optimization, and database scalability.
- Perform impact analysis for database and application changes.
Standards & Governance
- Support, enforce, and enhance database development, architecture, and naming standards.
- Ensure compliance with defined processes and best practices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Define and maintain database problem reporting, tracking, and resolution procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in the Statement of Work (SOW).
Additional Database Support
- Possess basic working knowledge of MS SQL Server databases to support hybrid environments when required.
