Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA to be a part of the company's Infrastructure team.
This team is responsible for managing databases on both cloud (AWS & GCP) and on-premises.
We support and maintain several database technologies like Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MySQL, with Oracle being the dominant estate. Multi-database experience is required, along with at least one cloud experience, preferably AWS.
We are looking for an experienced hands-on Oracle DBA who can work across both Operations and Engineering. We are embarking on several migrations into the cloud, so experience with Oracle database migrations is a must.
Key Accountabilities
- Database operational support: work in shift model (247) and provide on-call support during weekends and holidays.
- Support application release activities.
- Handle day-to-day issues such as:
- User access
- Performance tuning
- Backup and recovery
- Standby management
- Migrations
- Handle incidents.
- Design & build optimized, cost-effective, fault-tolerant database solutions.
- Handle homogeneous and heterogeneous database migrations using:
- GoldenGate
- Datapump
- DMS
- pg_dump/pg_restore
- Logical replication
- Dataguard (Oracle and PostgreSQL)
- Develop automated solutions for manual procedures.
- Manage databases in cloud environments such as AWS RDS, including infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience with Oracle database as a DBA
- 2+ years of experience with PostgreSQL
- 2+ years of experience managing Oracle RDS & EC2
- Experience in Oracle database migration and management in AWS (RDS, EC2)
- Experience with migration technologies such as GoldenGate
- Extensive experience with:
- Oracle 19c
- Oracle Dataguard
- RMAN
- Cloning software (NetApp, Delphix)
- RAC
- Performance Tuning
- Understanding of storage technologies like EBS, NetApp from a database perspective
- Experience in cloning and refreshing Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
