The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including the publication and organization of databases, the day-to-day administration and monitoring of databases, and the assessment and implementation of new technologies.
The DBA is challenged to work with architecture, application development, and operations staff to help achieve a stable, state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives.
The DBA also provides and designs tools to help manage the databases.
