We are looking for a skilled Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will ensure database availability, security, performance tuning, and support for business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain database servers (SQL 2017 SQL 2025).
- Monitor database performance and conduct regular performance tuning.
- Implement, monitor, troubleshoot and fix backup, restore, High Availability and disaster recovery strategies.
- Manage user access, roles, and security privileges.
- Troubleshoot database issues and work with development teams to resolve them.
- Optimize queries and stored procedures for application performance.
- Ensure data integrity, replication, and data migration between environments.
- Automate database tasks and maintain documentation.
- Support database upgrades, patching, and version migrations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 35 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization (PTO).
- Experience in database backup, restore, and recovery methods.
- Experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) concepts.
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows server environments.
- Understanding of SQL scripting.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice To Have)
- Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
- Experience with other DB technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Timescale, ClickHouse, Sybase)
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
- Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
