- Implement new databases or modify existing ones to meet business requirements, with occasional oversight.
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks independently, including backups, restores, and performance tuning.
- Monitor database health and performance, identifying and resolving common issues independently.
- Manage routine database security tasks, including user access control and security monitoring, escalating complex security matters.
- Execute data migration projects independently for standard scenarios, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Support database integration with other systems and applications, implementing standard connections.
- Analyze database performance and identify bottlenecks, implementing appropriate solutions.
- Implement performance improvement strategies, such as indexing, query optimization, and configuration adjustments.
- Contribute to developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans for databases.
- Execute disaster recovery testing procedures and document results.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database structures, procedures, and configuration settings.
- Create and update user manuals and training materials independently.
- Diagnose and resolve most database-related issues independently, collaborating with application developers and system administrators.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Experience in SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Good understanding of database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with database backup and recovery tools and techniques.
Desired Skills (Additional) - Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
