Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Data professional with expertise in COBOL and CICS to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL programming and experience in developing and maintaining applications in a mainframe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain COBOL applications
  • Analyze and optimize existing COBOL code for performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand data requirements
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure best practices are followed
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for production issues
  • Document technical specifications and maintain project documentation

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-8 years of experience in COBOL programming
  • Strong understanding of CICS (Customer Information Control System)
  • Proficiency in database management systems such as DB2 or IMS
  • Experience with mainframe environments and tools
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
