About the Role:

We are hiring a Data Visualization Expert who can turn raw numbers into compelling visual stories. This is not a make-a-chart-in-Excel role — we want someone who treats every report as a narrative: with a hook, a build-up, key insights, and a clear takeaway. You will partner with analysts, leadership, and clients to design reports and dashboards that are not only accurate, but visually striking and easy to act on.

Key Responsibilities:

•     Design and build dashboards, infographics, and narrative reports that communicate complex data simply and beautifully.

•     Convert datasets and analytical outputs into storyboards — structuring reports with a clear flow: context → trend → insight → recommendation.

•     Own the visual identity of all reports: typography, color palettes, layout, and information hierarchy.

•     Build interactive dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio (or equivalent).

•     Create custom visualizations using Python (matplotlib, seaborn, plotly) or D3.js / Chart.js when off-the-shelf tools fall short.

•     Produce client-ready PDFs, decks, and one-pagers (PowerPoint / Figma / Canva).

•     Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure visualizations are accurate, honest, and not misleading.

•     Iterate on stakeholder feedback; maintain version-controlled report templates.

Required Qualifications:

•     2–5 years of experience in data visualization, BI reporting, or analytics storytelling.

•     Strong proficiency in at least two of: Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, Google Data Studio.

•     Working knowledge of Excel (advanced) — pivot tables, conditional formatting, chart customization.

•     Comfort with SQL for pulling and shaping data independently.

•     Demonstrable design sense — a portfolio of past reports, dashboards, or infographics is mandatory.

•     Strong understanding of visualization principles (chart selection, color theory, accessibility, Tufte-style data-ink ratio).

Preferred Qualifications:

•     Working knowledge of Python (pandas + plotly / matplotlib) or JavaScript (D3.js, Chart.js).

•     Experience designing in Figma, Adobe Illustrator, or Canva for polished print / PDF outputs.

•     PowerPoint mastery — building decks that look like consulting-firm output, not stock templates.

•     Familiarity with Google Apps Script / Google Sheets dashboards is a plus.

•     Prior work in consulting, data journalism, agencies, or analytics-heavy domains.

What You'll Bring:

•     A storyteller's instinct — you naturally ask what is the headline of this data

•     Obsession with detail: alignment, spacing, font weights, axis labels.

•     Curiosity about the data itself, not just how to display it.

•     Ability to take vague briefs and produce 3 visual options to choose from.

Portfolio Requirement:

Applications without a portfolio (link, PDF, or sample dashboards) will not be considered. Please share 2–3 of your best examples that demonstrate:

•     A dashboard you designed end-to-end (interactive preferred).

•     A narrative report (PDF / deck) that tells a story.
