About The Role
The Data Transformation Manager (S/4HANA SD & PP) at Lonza is a pivotal role within the organization's global digital transformation initiative. Embedded in the central data team and based in Hyderabad, this position supports the deployment of the SAP S/4HANA ERP system as part of the multi-year Nexus program. The primary focus is on ensuring data readiness and seamless migration for Lonza's global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) sites. This role involves close coordination with internal teams, third-party partners, and stakeholders across regions to facilitate data models, data migration, and go-live activities. The manager will leverage their expertise in S/4HANA SD & PP modules, data management, and project coordination to drive the success of the deployment, ensuring high data quality and process integrity throughout the transformation journey.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in SAP S/4HANA SD & PP modules, with a solid understanding of data models, objects, and dependencies within these modules. Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and data migration tools is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong passion for digital transformation, data management, and emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning. A background in managing complex data projects, coupled with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, is essential. The role requires a proactive problem-solver with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, business units, and external partners. A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is typically required, with advanced certifications or relevant experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Data Readiness Support
- Support Lonza's global CDMO sites in achieving data readiness for S/4HANA deployment by finalizing data preparation activities within the Sales & Distribution (SD) and Production Planning (PP) data domains, focusing on models linked to Plan-to-Make and Order-to-Cash processes.
- Establish and refine standardized delivery plans, processes, tools, and templates to facilitate efficient data preparation and continuous improvement.
- Mobilize and enable local data owners and key users through onboarding sessions, training, and workshops to ensure alignment and understanding of data requirements.
- Coordinate with third-party S/4HANA integration partners to support the finalization of data designs, mappings, transformations, and obtain stakeholder sign-offs.
- Lead multiple data harmonization initiatives, ensuring their integration into the overall data migration strategy.
Data Migration and Deployment Support
- Provide end-to-end support during S/4HANA deployment, including data migration activities, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.
- Coordinate migration efforts across teams and external partners, managing testing, validation, defect resolution, and documentation to ensure smooth execution.
- Identify issues promptly and implement corrective actions to adhere to migration plans and quality standards.
- Drive innovation by exploring automation opportunities and integrating new technologies like AI and Machine Learning into data processes.
Data Governance and SAP MDG Support
- Assist in rolling out SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) for centralized master data management aligned with S/4HANA deployments.
- Support the training and handover processes for central data management teams to ensure ongoing data quality and governance post-deployment.
- Manage change requests related to data models, processes, and SAP MDG workflows, ensuring alignment with program standards and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Monitor and resolve data-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption and high data integrity.
Project Management, Documentation, and Training
- Develop comprehensive deployment toolkits and standardized procedures to facilitate repeatable and high-quality project execution.
- Monitor project progress, perform quality reviews, and report on milestones and risks.
- Ensure detailed documentation of all data activities, adhering to compliance and audit requirements.
- Provide training and ongoing support to data owners and key users to promote consistent execution and knowledge transfer.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate activities with third-party vendors, internal Nexus teams, IT, and business units to ensure alignment with project timelines and strategies.
- Maintain ongoing communication with Data & Information Architects to optimize operational data management practices.
