We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Steward and Analyst to drive metadata standardization and data ownership across enterprise systems. This role will be responsible for defining, maintaining, and enriching metadata assets including business glossaries, data dictionaries, and ownership hierarchies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to enhance data discoverability, trust, and compliance.

Hands-on experience to implement, configure and maintain this Data Steward with Data Governance tools is essential, with preference given to those familiar with Ab Initio (preferred), Informatica, Talend, Atlan, Databricks, or Snowflake.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are required to engage effectively with business and application stakeholders across L&T Finance.

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Detail-oriented Data Steward / Analyst with 28 years of experience in metadata governance, business glossary management, and data ownership frameworks in financial services. Adept at defining and maintaining enterprise metadata to support regulatory compliance, reporting accuracy, and data democratization. Proven ability to work across business and technology teams; familiarity with Ab Initio is an added advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIE

1. SDefine, maintain, and govern enterprise-wide Business Glossary and Metadata Hub, ensuring consistent and standardized definitions across domains
2. .Collaborate with Data Owners, SMEs, and Data Architects to assign data ownership, stewardship roles, and accountability for critical data assets
3. .Support ongoing metadata curation and enrichment efforts, ensuring metadata completeness, quality, and alignment with business objectives
4. .Establish workflows for metadata onboarding, change management, versioning, and lifecycle governance
5. .Work closely with Data Governance, Risk, Compliance, and IT teams to support data classification, policy enforcement, and regulatory alignment
6. .Assist in generating data lineage documentation and support catalogue integration efforts
7. .Provide periodic reports and metrics on metadata completeness, glossary usage, and stewardship activities
8. .Champion metadata awareness and drive data literacy initiatives across business units
9. .Guide adoption and optimization of data governance tools like Ab Initio (Preferred), Informatica, Atlan, or Snowflake
10. .Define roles and responsibilities for data stewards and custodians
11. .Train and evangelize data governance practices across departments
12. .Support audit and compliance reporting through accurate data lineage and usage logs
13. .Ensure business continuity with proper data backup, archival, and purging strategies
14. .Align governance goals with broader digital transformation and analytics strategies
