We are looking for a data scientist to work on problems like predicting customer drop-off (churn), risk scoring, and customer behavior analysis in insurance/financial services.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Build models to predict which customers are likely to stop paying, churn, or become risky
- Work on customer behavior analysis over time (cohorts, retention, payment patterns)
- Create meaningful features from raw data (transactions, customer activity, timelines)
- Evaluate models and ensure they are useful for business decisions, not just good offline metrics
- Work closely with product/business teams to translate model outputs into actions (targeting, interventions, etc.)
- Monitor model performance and iterate based on real-world feedback
Required skills:
- 3–6 years of experience in data science / applied ML
- Strong understanding of supervised learning + feature engineering
- Experience working with real-world messy data (time series / transactional data is a plus)
- Good grasp of model evaluation (not just accuracy) and practical trade-offs
- Ability to think in terms of business problems, not just models BFSI / insurance experience is a plus, but not mandatory
Nice to have
- Experience with risk models / churn prediction / customer analytics
- Familiarity with concepts like cohort analysis, class imbalance, model monitoring
- Comfort working with SQL + Python (pandas, sklearn, etc.)
