Role Summary
We are looking for a motivated and analytical Data Scientist (N2/N3 Level) with 3–4 years of hands-on experience in data science and machine learning. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end model development including data preprocessing, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, validation, and deployment support while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data collection, cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering on structured and unstructured datasets.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and statistical analysis.
- Develop, validate, and optimize predictive and classification models.
- Implement machine learning algorithms for business use cases.
- Manage the complete ML lifecycle: data preparation → model building → evaluation → performance tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into analytical solutions.
- Document methodologies, model assumptions, and performance metrics.
- Support model deployment and monitoring activities.
Technical Skills Required
Programming
- Strong hands-on experience in Python.
- Proficiency in Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib/Seaborn.
- Experience with XGBoost / LightGBM (Preferred).
Data Processing
- Data cleaning and preprocessing techniques.
- Feature engineering.
- Handling missing data and outliers.
Statistics & Modeling
- Strong understanding of Probability & Statistics.
- Hypothesis testing.
- Regression analysis and classification techniques.
- Experience with Linear & Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, KNN, and SVM.
Model Evaluation & Tuning
- Model evaluation metrics: Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1-score, ROC-AUC.
- Cross-validation techniques.
- Hyperparameter tuning.
Good to Have
- Experience in model deployment.
- Knowledge of SQL.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
- Understanding of MLOps concepts.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills.
Specialization Description
Data Science/Big Data Mining work includes:
- Creating data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets
- Analysis may be applied to various areas of the business (e.g., Market Economics, Supply Chain, Marketing/Advertising, Scientific Research, etc.)
- Researching and applying knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions
- At higher career levels, may conduct scientific research projects with the goal of breaking new ground in data analytics
