Summary
We are seeking a Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer to join our team and help build, deploy, and maintain production-grade ML systems that power Azuga's fleet intelligence platform. You will work across the full ML lifecycle from data exploration and feature engineering to deploying and monitoring models in production using MLOps best practices to ensure our models are reliable, scalable, and continuously improving.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and validate ML models across various use cases.
- Own the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of ML models in production environments using MLOps best practices.
- Build and improve pipelines for model retraining, versioning, and performance tracking.
- Partner with Data Engineering and Engineering teams to ensure models integrate reliably into production data pipelines.
- Translate business problems into modeling solutions in collaboration with Product and stakeholders.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and model performance clearly for team and stakeholder visibility.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, modeling, and pipeline development.
- Strong foundation in statistics and probability, with the ability to apply these concepts to real-world data problems.
- Proven experience with MLOps pipelines, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining ML models in production environments (not just notebooks/local experimentation).
- Solid understanding of the full ML lifecycle from data exploration and feature engineering to model deployment and monitoring.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on ambiguous problems.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with time-series or sensor/IoT data.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) for ML deployment.
- Background in fleet management, telematics, or connected devices.
