Position: Data Scientist

Purpose of the Position: The Data Scientist will be responsible for designing and implementing data-driven solutions to solve business problems. This role involves working with large datasets, building predictive models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights. The position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in data science tools and techniques.
Key Result Areas and Activities:
Data Analysis & Model Development
- Develop and validate machine learning models for classification, regression, and forecasting under guidance from senior team members.
- Apply standard modeling techniques using Python and common data science libraries.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Data Preparation & Feature Engineering
- Clean, transform, and prepare datasets for analysis and modeling.
- Create and refine features to improve model performance using established techniques.
- Work with SQL and data pipelines to source relevant data.
Model Evaluation & Reporting
- Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics.
- Document assumptions, methodology, and results.
- Support the preparation of dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate insights.
Collaboration & Execution
- Work closely with senior data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to support solution delivery.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into analytical tasks.
- Follow established development and documentation standards.
Deployment Support
- Assist engineering or MLOps teams during model deployment.
- Support model monitoring activities under guidance (e.g., basic performance tracking).
