Role Overview
This role sits within
Consumer & Market Insights (CMI) under
Performance & Consumer Analytics (PCA). The
Decision Sciences team (based in Minneapolis & Mumbai) supports global businesses including
North America Retail, Pet, International, North America Foodservice, and
CPW (Nestl JV).
We are seeking a
Data Scientist who combines strong
machine learning, forecasting, and statistical expertise with deep
business understanding, and can translate analytics into impactful business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative analytical and modeling solutions to support business objectives
- Identify, curate, and integrate internal and external data sources
- Engineer features using business-driven transformations
- Build scalable ML and time-series forecasting models (Prophet, ARIMA, SARIMA, ETS)
- Monitor model performance, accuracy, and anomalies; implement improvements
- Translate insights into clear, compelling data-driven stories
- Define and evolve data science processes, tools, frameworks, and standards
- Collaborate with data scientists and cross-functional stakeholders
- Advocate data-driven decision-making across the organization
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and time-series analysis
- Proven experience developing and optimizing forecasting models
- Deep understanding of regression, econometrics, and inferential statistics
- Hands-on experience with supervised & unsupervised ML techniques
- Proficiency in Python and/or R, and SQL
- Experience with cloud platforms and big data technologies
- Ability to convert analytics into actionable business strategies
- 5+ years experience (Bachelor's) or 3+ years (Master's) in Data Science or related fields
- Experience building ML-based applications/tools

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- CPG industry experience
- Advanced SQL and data visualization tools
- ML app development (R Shiny, Flask, etc.)
- Strong data quality, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to clearly explain model outputs to business stakeholders
