Job Description: Data Scientist — Healthcare AI Platform
Role Overview
We are looking for a Data Scientist with 1–2 years of experience to support the development of data-driven and AI-powered features for a healthcare technology platform.
The role involves working with healthcare, claims, payments, denial, operational, and clinical-adjacent data to build insights, reports, predictive models, and AI-assisted workflows. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, good Python and SQL knowledge, and an interest in applying AI/ML to real healthcare business problems.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze healthcare datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and operational improvement opportunities.
- Work with claims, denial, payment, EOB, ERA, eligibility, and revenue cycle data.
- Build dashboards, reports, and data summaries for business and product teams.
- Assist in developing predictive models for denial risk, recovery probability, payment delays, underpayments, and workflow prioritization.
- Clean, validate, and prepare structured and semi-structured healthcare data for analysis.
- Support AI/ML model development, testing, evaluation, and documentation.
- Work with engineers to help convert data science outputs into production-ready features.
- Perform exploratory data analysis and communicate findings clearly.
- Create reusable SQL queries, Python notebooks, and analysis scripts.
- Monitor model outputs and help identify data quality or performance issues.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and healthcare domain teams.
Required Skills and Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of Python for data analysis.
- Good SQL skills for querying and analyzing relational data.
- Experience with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, Seaborn, or similar.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts such as classification, regression, clustering, model evaluation, and feature engineering.
- Ability to clean, transform, and validate large datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain technical findings in simple business language.
- Basic understanding of APIs, data pipelines, and production data workflows.
- Interest in healthcare AI, healthcare analytics, or revenue cycle management.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to healthcare data such as claims, denials, EOBs, ERAs, ICD, CPT, CARC/RARC, or payer data.
- Experience with healthcare revenue cycle management or insurance workflows.
- Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, or AI-assisted analytics.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Supabase.
- Experience with dashboards or BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, or Looker.
- Basic understanding of data privacy, healthcare compliance, and secure data handling.
- Experience with Git, Jupyter notebooks, and collaborative engineering workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
