Insurance Data Scientist On-site, India
About The Opportunity
A high-impact role in the Insurance & Insurtech analytics sector supporting life, health and general insurance lines. You will join a data-driven team building predictive models and scalable analytics that improve pricing, claims outcomes, fraud detection and reserving accuracy for enterprise insurance customers. This is an on-site position in India focused on production-ready ML and domain-led insights.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, build and deploy end-to-end predictive models for pricing, claims severity/frequency, fraud detection and loss reserving using production-ready code.
- Conduct feature engineering, data preparation and exploratory analysis on large insurance datasets (policy, claims, exposure, third-party data) to extract actionable signals.
- Evaluate model performance using rigorous validation techniques, back-testing and performance monitoring; implement model governance and explainability for stakeholders and regulators.
- Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting and claims teams to translate business problems into modeling objectives and shape data-driven solutions that improve KPIs.
- Productionize models through reproducible pipelines, automated scoring workflows and monitoring; support deployment and integration with core insurance systems.
- Document methodology, maintain model inventories and contribute to best-practice playbooks for model development and validation.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Strong quantitative background with prior experience in insurance analytics or insurtech; ability to work on-site in India.
