Lead Data Scientist — Analytics & Automation

Lead / Principal | Education / EdTech | 8+ years

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Lead Data Scientist to own the design and delivery of scalable data science solutions across our EdTech platform. You will drive analytical strategy, build robust ML pipelines, and champion automation to enable data-led decision making at scale. This role sits at the intersection of rigorous science and engineering discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of ML models — from problem framing to production

deployment

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and feature engineering frameworks

• Drive automation of reporting, experimentation, and model retraining workflows

• Collaborate with product and engineering to embed data science into the core platform

• Define and enforce best practices across the data science team

• Mentor and upskill junior and mid-level data scientists

• Own stakeholder communication — translating complex findings into clear business impact

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years in data science with demonstrable lead-level ownership

• Expert-level Python (pandas, scikit-learn, PySpark or equivalent)

• Strong ML fundamentals — classification, regression, clustering, time series

• Experience building and maintaining MLOps and automation pipelines

• Proficiency with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure)

• Background in EdTech or consumer-facing digital products preferred

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
