Customer Protections is a critical part of PayPal's core value proposition. Our Buyer Protection Program ensures that buyers are reimbursed for product issues. Seller Protection program provides security and peace of mind to online businesses by guarding against fraud and abuse. The Resolutions platform puts the customer first to resolve fraud-related issues and provides fair, user-friendly mediation for issues between buyers & sellers.

We are an End-to-End team of 30 members consisting of Product Managers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts based out of SanJose, Bangalore, Chennai & Dublin.

Role Description:

As a member of the Resolutions team, you'll play a key role in PayPal margin improvement through Loss and Opex reduction.

As a Data Scientist, you will,

• Extract and process structured/unstructured data using SQL, Python, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with operations teams to gather feedback on dispute resolution processes and improve process efficiency
• Develop and validate hypotheses to optimize PayPal's operational costs while enhancing consumer and merchant experiences.
• Work with partner teams such as Modelling, Product and Engineering
• Support ad hoc analysis requests from stakeholders related to dispute trends or risk mitigation.
• Job Requirement: 6+ years in Analytics, Data Science or similar roles
• Experience with data preparation and analysis of large datasets in SQL and Microsoft Excel
• Passionate about generating insights from data to solve business problems
• Knowledge of any data and visualization tools like Python , Tableau
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Background in fraud, credit, risk management or statistics is a plus

Education Qualifications:

(Must Have) Bachelors or master's in Engineering/ Finance/ Mathematics/ Statistics/Economics from Tier I colleges
