Data Science Internship

Role Description This is a remote Data Science Internship role. The intern will support data-driven projects by collecting, cleaning, and organizing datasets from various sources relevant to learner performance and program impact. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing exploratory data analysis, building basic analytical models, and generating visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to mentors and program managers. The intern will assist in designing experiments, evaluating learning outcomes, and preparing concise reports or presentations that inform program decisions. Under the guidance of senior team members, the intern will also help document workflows, maintain code repositories, and contribute to improving data processes and learning tools.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of statistics, probability, and data analysis methods, with the ability to interpret results clearly.
• Hands-on experience with at least one programming language commonly used in data science (such as Python or R) and basic familiarity with data manipulation libraries or tools.
• Ability to work with structured data using spreadsheets or databases, including data cleaning, transformation, and simple querying.
• Comfort with creating visualizations and basic dashboards using tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, Excel, or similar platforms.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, and analytical techniques.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings in a clear and structured manner to non-technical audiences.
• Current enrollment or recent completion of a program in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent self-directed learning and project experience).
• Interest in education, skill development, and social impact, with a genuine motivation to support learners across diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate respectfully with mentors and peers.
