Sabre is seeking a talented
Data Engineer to support the
Data Intelligence team. This person will report to the
Engineering Manager – Data Intelligence.
The Data Intelligence team is responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, streaming systems, and analytics platforms that power customer-facing products and insights. The team works on large-scale data processing, real-time data integration, and enabling AI/ML-driven use cases for airline customers.
At Sabre, we're passionate about building software that solves real-world problems. In this role, you will plan, design, develop, and test data systems and applications for enhancements and new products, including cloud-based and real-time data platforms.
Role And Responsibilities
- Develop, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data processing systems
- Design and improve batch and streaming data solutions using modern data technologies
- Work on complex data problems requiring deep understanding of business context and data flows
- Ensure high data quality, reliability, and performance across systems
- Follow and promote best practices in coding, data engineering, and system design
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions
- Contribute to cost optimization and efficient usage of data platforms (e.g., BigQuery)
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
- Support development of data models and enable analytics and AI/ML use cases
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field, with proven experience in designing and building scalable batch and streaming data pipelines in cloud environments, including owning and managing production data pipelines
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong experience in building data pipelines in cloud environments (preferably GCP)
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, or similar technologies
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python/Java/Scala)
- Experience with batch and streaming data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Beam)
- Good understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT concepts
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
