The Team: The Data Quality & Content Customer Service Team at S&P Global Market Intelligence is a dynamic group responsible for upholding the highest standards of data quality and delivering exceptional customer support across the Market Data division, including Equity Pricing, Index, Commodities & Macroeconomics datasets, Daily Global Shares, Equity Capital Structure, and Debt Capital Structure. This team plays a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction by simulating the customer experience, proactively addressing concerns related to data collection and curation methods, and driving defect prevention and elimination initiatives. Through close collaboration with operational units, the team influences process design, spearheads process reengineering and transformational efforts, and continuously optimizes data quality. Our commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and comprehensiveness directly contributes to enhanced client satisfaction and improved Net Promoter Scores (NPS).

The Impact: As a Data Quality Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the data accuracy, completeness, and consistency of Market Data datasets, while also responding to client inquiries with expertise. In this role, you will collaborate with Data Operations, Quality Assurance, Level-I client support, data management, and product management teams to uphold rigorous data quality standards and deliver client-focused solutions. Your dedication to exceptional customer experience and innovative problem-solving will advance S&P Global's commitment to making data quality foundational to our operations. By aligning with our data strategy and streamlining core customer query processes, you will help drive a cohesive and efficient approach to both data quality and client support.

What's in it for you:

This position offers a dynamic opportunity to audit data collected by data collection teams, directly influence the client experience through client support, and strengthen business processes by implementing innovative ideas. The role provides exposure to a wealth of experience dealing with varied datasets and business processes, while fostering professional growth and competency development. You'll work across multiple regions and divisions, experiencing a diverse and inclusive culture, and collaborate creatively to meet individual and team benchmarks in a challenging environment. Additionally, you will be involved in advanced analytics projects and leverage cutting-edge Generative AI tools, contributing to the future of client engagement, operational intelligence, and support automation. If you thrive under pressure and are committed to delivering business goals, this role is designed for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive data quality checks and audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency, identifying and addressing defects or anomalies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and records of quality checks, assessments, and audit results, and contribute to the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
  • Analyse data and provide actionable insights to stakeholders, identifying opportunities to improve data quality and overall business processes.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor data quality standards, policies, methodologies, and guidelines, collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance.
  • Design and maintain data quality scorecards and dashboards, tracking metrics and performance to proactively address issues.
  • Develop and execute data cleansing and enrichment strategies, and maintain training materials and documentation for end-users.
  • Respond to client queries with professionalism and accuracy, ensuring timely and quality support that meets or exceeds productivity and timeliness targets.
  • Take ownership of client questions, conducting research, collaborating with internal teams, and providing effective, well-documented solutions.
  • Identify and flag potential risks or issues impacting business-as-usual operations and contribute to root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.
  • Draft knowledge base articles, identify query patterns, and recommend improvements to procedures and audits to reduce repeat client queries.
  • Participate in team training, mentorship, and ongoing projects, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), with a focus on execution excellence.
  • Leverage data and automation tools-including Generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Azure OpenAI, Bard)-to drive proactive client service, streamline responses, and optimize processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, sales, technology, and support teams to enhance the client experience and operational outcomes.

What we are looking for:

  • Hands-on experience with Equity Capital Structure dataset under Market Data.
  • Strong understanding of data collection policies, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • A client-first mindset with problem-solving ability.
  • Familiarity with Capital IQ and/or Capital IQ Pro is a strong plus.
  • Critical thinking, structured reasoning, and solution orientation.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with various teams.
  • Attention to detail and high-quality standards.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and tech environments.
  • Ability to communicate technical insights in a clear, business-friendly way.
  • Strong technical acumen and passion for using technology to solve client problems.
  • A curiosity for innovation and eagerness to explore applications of GenAI in support workflows.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Graduate or postgraduate in Finance or an MBA.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong hands-on experience in technical skills - e.g., Power BI, SQL, Tableau, Python.
  • Prior exposure to Generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT, Claude, Bard, or GitHub Copilot, and the ability to apply them in real-world problem solving (e.g., generating KB articles, automating responses, summarizing trends).
  • Comfort working in a data-driven environment with ability to learn new tools quickly.
