The Impact you will have in this role:

The Data Quality Governance and Strategy Associate Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and operationalizing data governance workflows within the Collibra platform. The role combines expertise in data governance, data engineering, and analytics to enable scalable, automated, and intelligent metadata management across the enterprise.

This position plays a key role in integrating structured data and analytical metadata from Snowflake into Collibra, supporting centralized data cataloging, standardized definitions, and end-to-end data lineage for analytics and reporting. It also enables AI-driven metadata generation and governance optimization leveraging Snowflake AI capabilities, enhancing data stewardship efficiency and metadata quality at scale.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding of data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, and data controls.
  • Experience with data integration frameworks and governance tooling.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven metadata enrichment and automation is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly understand and adapt to new tools, platforms, and project requirements.
  • Strong documentation skills for both technical and business audiences.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business, engineering, and leadership teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/SAFe).
  • Proven ability to manage timelines and deliverables effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

  • 2+ years of experience in data governance, data engineering, or analytics.
  • 2+ years of development experience in Java, Python, and/or UNIX environments.
  • 2+ years of SQL and Snowflake experience handling large-scale data.
  • 2+ years of experience working with AI capabilities within Snowflake or similar platforms.
  • Effective written and verbal communication for issue reporting.
