About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and technically proficient Mid-Level (5-7 years) SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with a strong focus on data quality, validation, and automation. This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data pipelines, analytics platforms, and reporting systems. You will combine your test automation expertise with hands-on experience in Snowflake and ThoughtSpot, helping to ensure our data is trusted, actionable, and production-ready. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of software engineering, data testing, and automation skills, with a passion for building robust frameworks that support both application-level testing and data validation.
Responsibilities
- Automate testing for data pipelines and ETL workflows in Snowflake.
- Validate data models, transformations, and aggregations for accuracy.
- Build reconciliation tests between source systems and Snowflake.
- Test and verify dashboards, reports, and analytics in ThoughtSpot.
- Ensure metrics and KPIs in BI tools align with data definitions.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks in C#, integrating into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate across teams to define strategies, plan sprints, and track data quality metrics.
Qualifications: B.Tech/BE
Required Skills
- Practical experience with Snowflake (SQL queries, stored procedures, schema validation).
- Exposure to ThoughtSpot or similar BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) for report validation and testing.
- 2+ years of experience as an SDET / Test Engineer with hands-on automation using C#.
- Experience embedding test automation into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
- Comfortable with test reporting, analyzing data quality metrics, and driving data-informed QA improvements.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working in collaborative Agile teams.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Playwright, and MSTest.
- Knowledge of Page Object Model (POM) for UI automation and controller-based design for API testing will be a plus.
- Familiarity with test result aggregation tools (e.g., Report Portal).
- Experience in regulated industries such as finance, compliance, or healthcare.
- Certifications in Snowflake, ISTQB, Azure Fundamentals, or prior mentoring responsibilities in QA/SDET functions.
- Awareness of AI-driven testing tools or AI-enhanced data quality frameworks.
