Data Privacy Associate

Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Data Privacy Associate to join our growing Privacy and Data Protection team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals who are passionate about privacy, compliance, and emerging data protection regulations.
The Data Privacy Associate will support privacy compliance projects, assist in conducting privacy assessments, contribute to policy development, and work closely with consultants and client stakeholders to implement effective privacy governance practices. This role offers significant learning opportunities across global privacy regulations, compliance frameworks, and privacy technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Privacy Compliance & Governance
- Support privacy compliance initiatives related to applicable data protection laws and regulations, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
- Support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and privacy risk assessments.
- Conduct regulatory research and assist in interpreting privacy obligations for clients and internal teams.
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of privacy policies, procedures, notices, and governance documentation.
- Assist in identifying privacy risks and tracking remediation activities.
Client Delivery & Consulting Support
- Support privacy consulting engagements under the guidance of senior consultants and project managers.
- Participate in client workshops, interviews, and data discovery exercises.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports, gap assessment reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
- Help maintain project trackers, action logs, status reports, and evidence repositories.
- Support privacy maturity assessments and privacy transformation programs.
Vendor & Third-Party Privacy Reviews
- Assist in conducting vendor privacy assessments and due diligence reviews.
- Support the review of Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), confidentiality agreements, and privacy-related contractual clauses.
- Maintain records of third-party privacy reviews and risk assessments.
Privacy Operations & Incident Support
- Assist in responding to privacy-related queries from clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support privacy incident and data breach management activities, including documentation and reporting.
- Help maintain privacy registers, compliance trackers, and governance dashboards.
- Monitor regulatory developments and support updates to compliance programs.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Prepare meeting minutes, project documentation, and compliance records.
- Support the creation of privacy awareness materials, training content, and knowledge repositories.
- Contribute to the development and standardization of templates, checklists, and assessment frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in Privacy, Compliance, Risk Management, Information Security, Legal, or related domains.
- Basic understanding of privacy and data protection concepts.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or project experience in privacy, cybersecurity, legal compliance, or risk management.
- Familiarity with privacy regulations such as DPDPA, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, or similar frameworks.
- Exposure to privacy standards such as ISO 27701, ISO 27001, or NIST Privacy Framework.
- Foundational privacy certifications or willingness to pursue certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, DCPP, or ISO 27701.
- Exposure to privacy management platforms such as OneTrust, Securiti.ai, TrustArc, or similar tools.
