Astellas Global Capability Centers Overview
Astellas Global Capability centers (GCCs) are strategically located sites that give Astellas the ability to access talent across various functions in the value chain and to co-locate core capabilities that are currently dispersed. Our three GCCs are in India, Poland and Mexico.

Purpose And Scope
The Data Platforms and Integrations Partner is part of the Customer Engagement Excellence (CEE) team within the broader Value Delivery organization CEE is an integrated global group focused on supporting capabilities across VALUE Delivery, including Commercial (Sales/Marketing), Market Access and Medical Affairs, to enhance delivery and outcomes to the business, whilst prioritizing ethical decision making. During all such activities, there is a need to ensure that the integrity and independence of Medical Affairs capabilities is not compromised. The Chapter Member is expected to proactively communicate and consult with their Chapter and Value Team Leads as necessary to ensure that the integrity and independence of Medical Affairs is maintained at all times.
The Data Platforms and Integrations Partner manages outcomes aligned with the Data Platforms Chapter.
As a Data Platforms and Integrations Partner, you will perform a critical role within the Data Strategy Practice. Your main responsibility is to manage, implement, and stabilize advanced data solutions in the areas of (but not limited to) Cloud Data offerings, Data Warehousing/Lakehouse, Data Virtualization, Data Automation and Integrations, Data Observability, Master Data Management (MDM), Business Domain Data Architecture, and bespoke Business Applications/Portals/Platforms.
This is a global role that is also expected to build trusted partnerships with global, regional, and affiliate groups from various areas of the company (with co-colleagues within Value Delivery and outside such as Information Systems (DX), Finance, Procurement, HR, etc.) as well as with external vendors/suppliers. Your strategic mindset and commitment to modern data technologies will be key in shaping our data landscape.
The Chapter Member receives capability and skillset development under the guidance of the Chapter Lead, who provides coaching and mentoring within the Agile model.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Value Team Delivery
- Manage the delivery of day-to-day tasks and responsibilities as defined by the Value Team's mandate (Value Team Mandates are based on business objectives) and set through a quarterly planning process.
- Support the Value Team Lead in executing the team's strategy and objectives,
- Apply expertise to address and resolve specific business challenges identified by the Value Team, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes as defined by the objectives
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional team members and stakeholders across multiple cultures and regions to accomplish prioritized objectives and deliverables
- Area specific Responsibility & Accountability
- Manage and support data solutions projects using cloud technologies like AWS S3/RedShift, Databricks, and Talend, focusing on Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Data Virtualization, and Process Automation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders across Value Delivery, Omnichannel, Finance, and Procurement to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Manage initiatives within the Data Integrations and Platforms Management (DIPM) Value Team, supporting Agile projects and ensuring successful implementation of data evolution tasks.
- Oversee and enhance existing data solutions, ensuring robust data governance and quality control frameworks.
- Contribute to the expansion of Medical Affairs systems and solutions which may include Clinical Trial Management (CTMS), external funding and grants, Vault Medical content management system, and medical incident reporting functions.
- Stay current with emerging data management technologies, providing innovative solutions to improve data platforms and processes.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer or Information/Data Science, Information Systems, or STEM field or equivalent
- 5-7 years of experience in Data Warehousing/Data Lakehouse platforms, including data modelling, quality checks, and observability.
- Proficiency with technologies such as AWS (S3, RedShift), Talend, SQL, Databricks, and Python.
- Knowledge of advanced data tools and techniques in virtualization, automation, and data observability.
- Familiarity with data management and governance tools like Monte Carlo, Collibra, and Business Intelligence tools (Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI).
- Project and change management expertise with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Understanding of the role of a global function within broader enterprise strategy
- Previous experience in a global role or working with cross-functional teams across different regions/markets
- Highly coachable/ thrives in an environment of continuous growth
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in appropriate area(s) such as Cloud Computing Solutions (e.g., AWS Suite), project management and agile methodologies (PMP, CSM, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, etc. Adept in project management delivery tools such as MS Azure DevOps, MS Project, or equivalent.
- Familiarity and understanding of a Data Mesh ownership model including Domains, Data Products, and related governance model.
- Pharmaceutical or BioPharma experience with good understanding of secondary data sources commonly used (e.g., script level, patient longitudinal, promotional, omnichannel data, etc.).
- Possess a strong understanding of data architecture/engineering/operations/ reporting within Life Sciences/ Pharma industry across Commercial, Medical (R&D), and Finance domains.
