As a Data Owner Lead within Consumer & Community Banking Data & Analytics team, you play a vital role in enabling faster innovation by ensuring data is clearly documented, high-quality, and well-protected. You are responsible for overseeing all data created, provisioned, or consumed in business applications, supporting objectives from operations to advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases. You serve as a subject matter expert, helping to define and classify data critical to your business area. You collaborate closely with technology and business partners to deliver data that meets quality and safety requirements. Together, we execute processes that identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks throughout the data life cycle, ensuring compliance with firm policies and standards.
Job responsibilities
- Act as Product Owner for data delivery teams, build and groom the backlog defining initiatives and epics to guide the team's work and outcomes
- Develop data strategy to define & deliver on AI ready data products while working with business and central data management teams
- Create plans on how to develop and deliver data for the business area to support business operations, strategic objectives, advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases
- Document requirements for the content and quality of data for their business area, and coordinate with technology and business partners to deliver requirements
- Develop processes and procedures in the product (data as a product) management lifecycle. Identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks across the data lifecycle in their business area, include risks related to data protection, retention and destruction, storage, use, and quality
- Partner with technology and business resources to resolve identified data issues in a timely and consistent manner
- Manage direct or matrixed staff to execute data-related tasks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree with 10+ years of experience related to data management, data analysis, analytics and platform experience
- Expertise in data technologies such as analytics, business intelligence, machine learning, data warehousing, data management & governance, data quality
- Experience with risk and control requirements
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Good business acumen and strategic thinking
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Understanding and practical experience in data and analytics (SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Spark), machine learning (python, JupyterLab, LLMs), cloud technologies & their applications (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks)
- Open data standards, data taxonomy and vocabularies, metadata management
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
