Data Operation Engineer

Position: Data Operation Engineer (India) | 5+ Years

Location - Bangalore, Chennai, Gurgaon (India)

Job responsibilities

Operate, monitor and optimise cloud-native data platforms on GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow,

CloudSQL, Spanner, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, GKE) and equivalent services on AWS

and Azure.

Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming and batch processing workflows

using modern data tools and frameworks.

Apply SRE principles to ensure platform reliability; implement CI/CD pipelines,

infrastructure-as-code and operational automation to achieve consistent, repeatable

deployments.

Drive data literacy across the organisation by applying data and analytics to decision-

making and fostering a data-driven culture.

Champion innovation by challenging existing processes, evaluating new technologies

and inspiring teams to embrace diverse viewpoints and continuous improvement.

Define and manage monitoring, alerting and incident response processes to maintain

platform health and SLA compliance.

Skills required

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering or a related discipline

with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

Advanced hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), including

cloud-native data services, orchestration, monitoring and automation.

Proven experience delivering GCP-based data platforms using BigQuery, Dataflow,

CloudSQL, Spanner, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer and GKE. Proficiency in modern data

tools for building, operating and optimising ETL/ELT, streaming and batch pipelines.

Strong understanding of SRE principles, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and operational

automation. Ability to translate data and analytics into insights that drive effective

decision-making. Growth mindset with a track record of innovating, adopting new
