Data Modeller

Key Responsibilities

• Data Modeling:
• Design and develop logical, physical, and conceptual data models to meet business requirements, support reporting, and ensure data integrity.
• Database Design:
• Collaborate with database administrators and developers to design optimal database structures, including tables, relationships, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Data Integration:
• Work with data engineers to integrate data from various sources, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and accessibility in data models.
• Collaboration with Business Teams:
• Communicate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate those requirements into detailed data models aligned with business objectives.
• Optimization:
• Continuously monitor and optimize data models for performance, scalability, and data integrity.
• Documentation:
• Maintain clear documentation of data models, definitions, and business logic to ensure consistency and ease of understanding across the organization.
• Data Governance:
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies, data quality standards, and industry best practices.
• Troubleshooting and Support:
• Provide ongoing support for data-related issues, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and resolve challenges as they arise.

Qualifications

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in data modeling, database design, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with database tools such as SQL, Erwin, Microsoft Visio, or other data modeling software.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in database design and data modeling principles.
• Knowledge of SQL and other query languages.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both technical and business teams.

Certifications (Optional)

• Certifications related to data management or data modeling, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), are a plus.
