We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Modeller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, data warehousing, and database design, with a proven ability to lead data initiatives and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. This role is critical for ensuring the integrity and usability of data across the organization and requires a deep understanding of relational databases and data governance principles.
- Lead the design and implementation of data models for various business needs, ensuring alignment with data warehousing methodologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective data models that support business intelligence and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain data warehousing structures, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
- Oversee the use of data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, IBM Data Architect) to create and manage data models.
- Ensure compliance with data governance principles and industry regulations related to data privacy and protection.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data modelers and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to facilitate data integration and ensure a cohesive strategy for data management.
- Analyze and resolve data-related issues, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Technical Skills:
- Data Modeling: Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing methodologies, and database design.
- Database Technologies: Strong understanding of relational database concepts and proficiency in SQL.
- Data Modeling Tools: Experience with industry-standard data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, IBM Data Architect).
- Data Governance: Familiarity with data governance principles and practices, including compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Domain Knowledge: Good to have knowledge of Banking, BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance), and Capital Markets domains.
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and database design.
- Proven track record in database design and management, with a focus on delivering high-quality data solutions.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Design and review data models to ensure they meet business requirements and data governance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Monitor data quality and integrity, implementing necessary changes to improve data processes.
- Conduct training sessions and provide mentorship to junior team members on data modeling and best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data modeling and data management technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master s degree is a plus.
- Relevant certifications in data modeling or data management are preferred.
