Role Overview
You will be responsible for translating business requirements and data flows into robust conceptual, logical, and physical data models across domains like Customer, Product, Finance, and Supply Chain.
You will work closely with Data Architects, Engineers, and Governance teams to ensure data is structured, scalable, and analytics-ready across platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, and Dremio.
Key Responsibilities
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with enterprise standards
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and SMEs to understand data needs and processes
- Analyze end-to-end value chains to identify key data entities and relationships
- Build scalable physical data models optimized for performance and cloud environments
- Design semantic layers for business-friendly data access via BI tools
- Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and governance practices
- Ensure data lineage, traceability, and metadata management across systems
- Work closely with data engineering teams to align pipelines with models
- Manage version control, documentation, and change tracking for models
- Contribute to data quality, governance, and business glossary initiatives
Ideal Candidate
- 7–14 years of experience in Data Modeling / Enterprise Data Architecture
- Strong hands-on experience with data modeling tools (Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, SQLDBM, etc.)
- Deep expertise in:
- Dimensional modeling (Kimball / Inmon)
- Normalization & schema design
- Proven experience designing models on modern data platforms:
- Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Dremio
- Strong SQL skills and ability to validate model implementations
- Experience collaborating with data engineering and analytics teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or related field
Good to Have
- Experience with data governance & metadata tools (Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview)
- Exposure to ETL / data pipeline tools (Informatica, DBT, Airflow)
- Understanding of Master Data Management (MDM)
- Experience in high-tech / manufacturing / supply chain domains
