Position details:
Hands-on data modeling, analysis & technical writer focusing on data model design, development, validation, and deployments. As a Data Modeler & Analyst, you will play a key role in helping execute our data strategy and to support the Lead Modeler & Analyst in designing and implementing new data products and services while supporting the current state data models. The candidate must have a strong functional and technical understanding of banking products and data that feed into Enterprise Data warehouse and Data Lake systems for various types of risk and regulatory reporting and other consumption patterns.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Hands on business data & systems analysis, profiling, producing specifications for the data models, and mappings for the banking systems, for the business domains of Commercial Lending, Forex, Funds, Payments, Credit Risk, Financial & Non-Financial Risk, Party & Ref data, AML, KYC, Sanctions, and Trade Surveillance processes.
- Understanding and writing Data Product specifications through collaborative working with the Lead Data Modeler & Analyst.
- Firsthand support for designing, documenting models (conceptual, logical & physical), data profiling, database code development, testing, implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting Data Lake & warehouses in the banking domain.
- Responsible for project deliverables including, but not limited to, data sourcing & flows, data lineage, Metadata model design, conceptual/data model development, metadata development, data quality, testing, implementation, and BAUs.
- Helping in developing best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data analysis/models.
- Evaluating data & systems for the reuse of data analysis & models in new environments.
- Evaluating data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies and validating for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyzing data-related system integration challenges and proposing appropriate solutions
- Working closely with engineering organizations to ensure quality software deliveries, aligning with product visions and customer needs.
- Composing data, systems, and process documentation.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or any other Engineering discipline. Experience in the financial services or banking industry is required.
- 8+ years overall experience with deep functional and system design understanding and implementation experience with Data warehousing, Data Lakes, and Data Marts.
- 5+ years of most recent experience in Banking & Financial Services sector.
- Expert level working experience on data modeling using ER-Studio and ERwin. Exposure to other modeling and data lineage tools are preferable.
- Proficiency in SQL & DB Views including solid experience in databases such as Snowflake, Starburst (or any other data virtualization tools), SingleStore, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, and Postgres and Hive tools and technologies.
- Fair understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, etc.)
- Expertise in Data analysis including creating complex SQL queries pertaining to logical & physical data modeling.
- Experience in Jira, Confluence, and MS office
- Exposure of Data Integration/ETL tools (Informatica, Glue, etc.)
- Exposure to Data Linage tools and Master & reference data tools (e. g. Collibra)
- Exposure to Cloud technologies such as AWS Data pipeline
- Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
- Exposure to AI/ML and Data Analytics
- Exposure to Architecture (Data, Application) Principle and Best Practices.
