About the Role: We are seeking an Anaplan Model Builder to design, develop, and enhance scalable models and end-to-end planning applications that drive efficiency, accuracy, and connected planning across the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, model builder with strong data modeling fundamentals and experience delivering integrations using APIs and automation (e.g., Python/Anaplan Connect) to orchestrate reliable data pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Model & Application Development: Architect and build Anaplan models using both classic & Polaris calculation engines and complete planning applications (lists, modules, actions, processes, and pages), leveraging best practices and Anaplan's New UX (NUX) for an intuitive user experience.
- Solution Design & Business Alignment: Translate business and reporting requirements into technical designs (model schema, data flows, security, and UX), ensuring alignment with Finance & Operations processes and organizational goals.
- Performance & Scalability: Implement Anaplan modeling best practices (DISCO/PLANS, dimensionality choices, sparsity management, calculation optimization) to ensure scalable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions.
- Data Integration, APIs & Automation: Design, build, and support integrations between Anaplan and upstream/downstream systems using Anaplan APIs and automation scripting (Python). Own data ingestion/extract patterns (incremental loads, error handling), monitoring, data quality checks, and reconciliation.
- Governance & End-User Enablement: Administer roles/permissions, define model governance standards, document designs and runbooks, and train users/superusers. Support release cycles using ALM and coordinate testing/UAT and deployments.
- Reporting & Insights: Build dashboards, management reporting, and KPI views in Anaplan (NUX) and enable downstream consumption where needed (exports/APIs), providing actionable insights for stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience building Anaplan models and delivering connected planning solutions in production environments.
- Strong fundamentals in multi-dimensional data modeling (dimensions, hierarchies, granularity, mapping, and reconciliation) and ability to translate complex business logic into scalable model designs.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Data/Analytics, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Anaplan integrations and extensibility: Anaplan APIs (Authentication/OAuth where applicable), Anaplan Connect, and automation via scripting (Python preferred) for orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring.
- Experience with Anaplan platform capabilities including ALM (Dev/Test/Prod), model governance, NUX, security/roles, and best practices for maintainable enterprise applications.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational data concepts; comfort working with REST/JSON payloads and data transformation. Strong Excel skills.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to business users, produce clear documentation, and collaborate across product/engineering/data teams.
- High ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver end-to-end solutions (build, test, deploy, support), and continuously improve reliability and performance.
- Experience building executive-ready reporting in Anaplan (NUX) with strong attention to usability and performance.
