Data Migration Specialist

As a Data Mapper for the Data Migration Squad at Congruent Solutions, you will play a critical role in facilitating the safe and efficient transfer of data between systems. Your primary responsibility will be to create and maintain data mappings that clearly define how data flows from legacy systems to new platforms. You will work closely with data analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the migration process.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze source and target data structures to develop comprehensive data mappings.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and understand business rules.

- Design, implement, and document data mapping specifications.

- Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure the accuracy of the migrated data.

- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues during and after the migration process.

- Develop and maintain documentation related to data mapping processes and methodologies.

- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data migration and mapping.

Skills and Tools Required:

- Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).

- Proficiency in data mapping tools and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions.

- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and data governance frameworks.

- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for data manipulation.

- Analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on data accuracy and quality.

- Knowledge of data integration methodologies and best practices.

- Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
