Position Overview
The Data Migration Lead / Manager is a key leadership role responsible for managing and guiding Asymbl's India-based data engineering and migration team. This role provides strategic direction, technical oversight, and mentorship to ensure the successful design and execution of enterprise data migration initiatives across Salesforce and related platforms.
The Data Migration Lead will oversee complex migrations from legacy systems into Salesforce and other cloud platforms, ensuring high standards of data quality, accuracy, and governance. This role will establish and promote best practices for data migration, including data profiling, cleansing, deduplication, mapping, transformation, and validation.
This leader will also be responsible for building and maturing Asymbl's data migration and data engineering practice in India, establishing repeatable processes, reviewing technical deliverables such as SQL scripts and migration workflows, and developing a high-performing team capable of executing large-scale migration projects across multiple enterprise systems.
In addition to traditional migration responsibilities, this role will help drive Asymbl's evolving data strategy by leveraging Salesforce Data Cloud, AgentForce, and API-driven architectures to extract, transform, and orchestrate data from diverse enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Data Engineers and Data Migration Specialists, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance engineering culture.
- Build and grow the India-based data migration team into a mature, proactive engineering function capable of delivering complex data migrations and data engineering initiatives end-to-end.
- Provide strategic oversight and hands-on technical leadership in the design, architecture, and execution of enterprise data migration solutions into Salesforce and other cloud platforms.
- Define and promote standardized migration processes, including data profiling, cleansing, deduplication, transformation, mapping, loading, and validation.
- Review and approve SQL scripts, ETL processes, data transformation logic, and migration workflows to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to engineering best practices.
- Architect and oversee the use of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, DBAmp, and ETL tools to support data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Develop and implement processes for validation and quality assurance of migrated data.
- Guide the team in building API-driven data pipelines, using REST APIs and tools such as Postman, Python, and integration frameworks to extract and transform data from various enterprise systems.
- Establish and enforce data governance and quality standards, ensuring consistency, integrity, and compliance across all migration and data management initiatives.
- Design and implement data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure complete and accurate migration results.
- Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, developers, and project managers to align migration strategies with business requirements and delivery timelines.
- Support and guide the team in working with Salesforce Data Cloud and AgentForce, helping clients leverage modern data platforms to unify, orchestrate, and activate enterprise data.
- Conduct discovery workshops with clients and internal stakeholders to define migration requirements, data mapping rules, and transformation logic.
- Manage project assignments, team utilization, and delivery timelines to ensure migration initiatives are completed within scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Promote continuous improvement by researching and implementing new data migration techniques, automation approaches, and engineering best practices.
- Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and professional development of data engineers while fostering strong documentation, knowledge sharing, and engineering discipline.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data migration, data engineering, or enterprise data architecture, including 3+ years leading technical teams or delivery groups.
- Deep expertise in T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server, including complex queries, stored procedures, data transformation logic, and performance tuning.
- Extensive experience designing and executing large-scale data migrations into Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture, objects, relationships, and platform data constraints.
- Hands-on experience with migration tools such as DBAmp, Talend, Informatica, Data Loader, DataLoader.io, JetStream, or similar ETL platforms.
- Strong expertise in data profiling, cleansing, deduplication, normalization, and transformation techniques.
- Experience building data extraction pipelines using APIs, with proficiency using Postman, Python, and REST-based integrations.
- Experience extracting data from multiple enterprise systems such as ERP, HRIS, financial, or marketing platforms.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, relational database design, and data warehousing concepts.
- Proven experience reviewing and governing data engineering work products including SQL scripts, ETL workflows, and migration automation tools.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills in a consulting or enterprise delivery environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex migration and data integrity issues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
