Your work will directly support the firm's commitment to sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving our ability to manage data effectively.

As an analyst in the Instrument Reference Data (IRD) team, you will play a key role in enhancing the quality, integrity, and reliability of the firm's critical instrument data within Data Solutions Operations. You will contribute to delivering business impact through fit-for-purpose data, strengthening data capabilities across multiple lines of business, implementing robust data controls, and providing comprehensive reference data.

In this role, you will help establish and maintain consistent data governance practices, support the development of technologies and processes for effective data management, and collaborate with business lines to embed best practices. You will be involved in sourcing, validating, mastering, and distributing instrument attributes via J.P. Morgan's strategic Reference Data architecture, ensuring that high-quality reference data is available for trading, risk management, fund valuation, settlement, and regulatory reporting.

Role Description

We are seeking for a Reference Data Team Lead in operations based in Hyderabad, India. The role involves managing day to day operations for reference data team, working on subscribers requests or queries and working on change projects The role will work closely with professionals across Instrument and Pricing Reference Data. The individual will ensure a robust control framework and effective global operating model are being used to service businesses.

Job responsibilities:

  • Follow the global operating model to effectively service instrument requirements focused on Securities Services and Markets business at JPM.
  • Analyze data using various tools to enhance data quality across critical reference data parameters for multiple asset classes.
  • Collaborate with the team responsible for creation, maintenance, and management of exceptions for instrument reference data on core platforms.
  • Ensure proper controls are in place to reduce financial risks implement procedures to enforce controls and monitor adherence.
  • Work with business units and product teams to define requirements and embed data quality controls into operational processes.
  • Contribute to ongoing developments of the instrument control process.
  • Support ad-hoc project work and product releases as required.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Hold a degree in Finance or Technology, or possess equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrate fresher status or 5+ years of work experience in Financial Services, with exposure to Instrument Reference Data.
  • Exhibit strong market data vendor knowledge and experience, including Bloomberg, ICE, Euroclear, and Refinitiv.
  • Understand one or more broad financial instruments such as fixed income, equity, and derivatives.
  • Apply sound knowledge of securities operations.
  • Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including business and product teams.
  • Utilize technical expertise in data analysis, SQL, and other data quality tools. Operate advanced MS Excel functions with confidence.
  • Display strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Adapt to working in the EMEA time zone.
