Data Ingestion / Integration Engineer

Role Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will build and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Fivetran, supporting movement of data from enterprise and legacy systems into cloud data platforms such as Snowflake. This role focuses on reliable data ingestion, validation, and pipeline support for analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and manage Fivetran connectors for multiple data sources:
- Databases (SQL Server, DB2, Oracle)
- APIs, SaaS tools, flat files, and legacy systems
- Support ingestion of data into Snowflake and cloud data platforms
- Assist in moving data from legacy systems to modern data platforms
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines for failures and performance issues
- Support handling of schema changes, connector updates, and data transformations
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems
- Work with senior engineers on complex ingestion and integration scenarios
- Document data pipelines, workflows, and integration logic
- Support downstream data consumption for BI and analytics use cases
- Participate in testing, deployment, and optimization of pipelines
Required Skills
- 47 years of experience in data engineering or integration roles
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran or similar ELT tools
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience working with multiple data sources including legacy systems
- Understanding of data ingestion, ETL/ELT workflows, and pipeline concepts
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms
- Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure preferred)
- Basic understanding of data modelling concepts
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to HVR (High Volume Replication) or data replication concepts
- Experience with dbt, Azure Data Factory, or Airflow
- Exposure to legacy-to-cloud data migration projects
- Experience supporting BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Understanding of data quality and validation frameworks
