Role Summary

:

MouriTech is seeking a Data Governance Product Lifecycle Analyst to apply enterprise data governance best practices within the product lifecycle, with a primary focus on improving data security, data compliance, and data quality through coordinated data cataloging. This role partners with Product Operations, Data Governance, architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure priority product and data changes are cataloged, classified, traceable, and reviewed at defined lifecycle checkpoints. The role emphasizes metadata quality, business glossary alignment, lineage visibility, sensitive data handling, retention support, and data quality rule coordination. The position is intended to operationalize catalog driven controls that support charter objectives for standardization, quality, lifecycle management, privacy, security, and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

:

  • Cataloging Coordination

:

Coordinate data cataloging activities for priority product and data changes across agreed lifecycle checkpoints so data assets, business terms, ownership, classifications, and lineage are documented before release decisions are made.

  • Metadata Stewardship

:

Maintain and improve metadata quality in Microsoft Purview and Databricks Unity Catalog, including business definitions, data owner and steward assignment, sensitivity indicators, lineage references, and related product context.

  • Security and Compliance Support

:

Support data security and compliance reviews by confirming that sensitive data classifications, retention or lifecycle considerations, access related metadata, and required evidence are captured for in scope product changes.

  • Data Quality Coordination

:

Support data quality execution by coordinating catalog linked quality rules, profiling inputs, issue logging, and follow through on remediation items for prioritized product data assets.

  • Lifecycle Checkpoint Integration

:

Partner with Product Operations and data stakeholders to embed a narrow set of catalog-based governance checkpoints into intake, design, change review, and release readiness activities for in scope initiatives.

  • Workflow and Status Tracking

:

Use workflow and reporting tools to track review status, approvals, exceptions, open quality issues, lineage gaps, and catalog completion for leadership and working teams.

  • Business Glossary Alignment

:

Maintain alignment between catalog entries, business glossary terms, and approved reporting definitions so common business language and traceability improve over time.

  • Change Impact Communication

:

Prepare concise change impact and governance status updates for affected stakeholders when catalog, quality, privacy, or lifecycle gaps create release or compliance risk.

Technical Qualifications Needed

:

  • Hands on experience with enterprise metadata, cataloging, lineage, business glossary, data classification, or data quality tooling.
  • Working knowledge of product lifecycle checkpoints, release readiness reviews, and change coordination for data intensive initiatives.
  • Experience documenting data assets, fields, ownership, definitions, lineage, and control evidence in governed repositories.
  • Work Experience Range

:

Typically 4 to 7 years in data governance, metadata management, business analysis, Product Operations, analytics support, or a related discipline, with direct experience supporting cataloging, quality, compliance, or lifecycle controls for enterprise data assets.

Mandatory Required Skills

:

  • Microsoft Purview. Ability to support cataloging, glossary management, metadata capture, scans, lineage references, sensitivity context, and lifecycle related documentation for in scope data assets.
  • Databricks and Databricks Unity Catalog. Ability to work with governed data assets, metadata, lineage, access context, and catalog structures that support security, compliance, and data quality visibility.
  • Power Automate. Ability to support or build approval and notification workflows for governance reviews, issue routing, or exception tracking tied to lifecycle checkpoints.
  • Power BI. Ability to work with governance dashboards and status reporting for catalog coverage, data quality trends, lineage gaps, access or compliance indicators, and workflow progress.
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot. Ability to use Copilot to accelerate documentation review, summarize policy and standards content, draft working notes, and improve productivity in governance coordination tasks.
  • Databricks SQL or SQL. Ability to validate metadata against tables or views, review quality conditions, and investigate data issues that affect catalog accuracy or reporting trust.
  • SharePoint, Teams, and Excel. Ability to manage supporting artifacts, working logs, evidence files, committee materials, and collaboration records used in governance operations.
