Job Description – Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a key role within the GoldenSource OnDemand Managed Services team, leading data related services for a significant customer.
These managed services have a responsibility for the smooth daily data governance operational running of the GoldenSource platform both in the cloud and onsite at its clients. The GoldenSource application is business critical and centrally manages data for trading, settlement, risk, performance tracking and related reporting systems.
The role is lead functional role requiring a depth of experience delivering data governance and operations to financial services, focused on the buy-side.
Responsibilities
- Data Governance Framework:
- As part of a ISV delivering service to financial institution end-customer, develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with ISV and end-customer organizational goals in term of BAU data changes, operational management and change management.
- Define and communicate data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence across the organization in term of BAU.
- Data Quality Management:
- Establish and oversee data quality management processes to monitor and improve the accuracy and completeness of data.
- Collaborate with data stewards and business units to define and implement data quality metrics and KPIs.
- Data Stewardship:
- Work with customer to identify and appoint data stewards who will be responsible for the quality and integrity of specific data domains or areas of the solutions.
- Provide guidance and support to data stewards, fostering a culture of accountability and responsibility for data assets.
- Data Classification and Security:
- Implement data classification policies and procedures to ensure sensitive data is appropriately identified and protected.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to establish and enforce data security measures.
- Data Governance Communication:
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness and build a data-centric culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Management, Computer Science).
- At least 10/15 year's working in a financial institutions with significant, demonstrated experience in a role responsible for investment data management and security analysis for an Asset Manager or Asset Owner
- Team leadership with experience delivering daily governance & ideally data operations at financial services institution
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Familiarity with relevant data regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different business units.
- Experience with data quality management tools and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
- You will have worked in a lead role delivering data services to financial institutions supporting both the processing of data vendor feeds and supporting end user requirements.
- Certification in data management or data governance (e.g., Certified Information Management Professional, Certified Data Management Professional).
- You will have worked with data mastering systems, familiar with the concepts of golden-records, Data Quality, Benchmarks, Valuations, Books of record and Reconciliation activities. Also having a good working knowledge of data vendor content from common data providers such as Bloomberg, Standard & Poors etc. and be able to compare, rationalize and question suspect data.
- The ability to troubleshoot data issues, lead team members and work to daily deadlines and operational SLA's is essential
- Excellent knowledge of financial instruments and asset classes is required with some knowledge of Market Data/pricing being an advantage.
Location will be in Mumbai with possible travel to other GoldenSource offices and clients as services and projects require. He/she will need to interface with the client and demonstrate high level of competency and leverage his/her experience to manage client expectations and ensure successful service delivery.
The candidate should be adept at problem solving through innovation, making confident decisions under pressure with aggressive timeframes and have a proven track record working in buy-side data operations
