Job Description
As the Data Governance & MDM Practice Lead, you will define the Trust layer for our CoE. You are responsible for transforming raw data into high-quality, mastered assets that drive AI and strategic decision-making. You will lead the delivery of complex multi-domain MDM and automated governance programs across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Management: Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise MDM and Governance programs. Manage project lifecycles from data discovery and stewardship workflows to Golden Record creation.
- Architecture & Design: Oversee the architectural design of MDM hubs (Registry, Hub, or Co-existence) and Governance platforms. Design automated metadata management and lineage solutions.
- CoE Strategy & RFP Support: Build the Governance-as-a-Service component of large-scale data proposals. Respond to complex RFP requirements around PII, GDPR, and data mastering.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor data stewards and MDM developers. Set standards for business glossaries, data survival rules, and taxonomy management.
- Stakeholder Management: Partner with CDOs and business functions to translate regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA) and Data Quality (DQ) metrics into business value.
- Quality & Governance: Authorize and implement enterprise-wide data quality frameworks. Ensure security and compliance standards (e.g.data masking, PII classification) are met.
- Optimization & Innovation: Drive the shift toward Self-Driving Governance and Agentic AI for automated metadata tagging, anomaly detection, and data product marketplaces.
- Hiring: Build a pipeline of Data Stewards and MDM Developers. Lead the training for junior consultants on market-leading DG tools.
Required Tech Stack & Qualifications
- Experience: 15+ years in Data Management; minimum 6+ years specifically leading MDM and Data Governance implementations.
- MDM Tool Mastery: Deep hands-on experience and strategic knowledge of leaders like Informatica MDM (IDMC), Reltio, Profisee, or SAP Master Data Governance.
- Governance & Catalog Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Atlan (AI-native), Collibra, Alation, or Microsoft Purview.
- Data Quality (DQ) Tools: Proficiency with augmented DQ solutions like Ataccama ONE, Qlik Talend, or Great Expectations.
- Architecture: Proven ability to integrate MDM with modern stacks (e.g.mastering data before it hits Snowflake or using Databricks Unity Catalog for governance).
- Certifications: CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) is highly preferred, along with platform-specific certifications (Informatica, Collibra, etc.).
