Job Description

  • Lead adoption and operationalization of the enterprise data governance framework for assigned domain(s).
  • Align and engage a broad stakeholder community on governance needs including data quality, access controls, privacy, security, master data management, and change management.
  • Enforce standards and promote data reusability in partnership with Enterprise MDM and Reference Data teams.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure adherence to data governance principles within your domain.
  • Develop policies related to data, metadata, privacy, lineage, access, security, retention, and archival.
  • Maintain thorough documentation on data definitions, standards, data flows, common data models, and harmonization.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements in the assigned domain.
  • Collaborate with technology, business, and enterprise teams to specify and implement data foundations and governance technologies.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key business leads and partners to understand and address their data governance needs.

Must-Have Functional Skills

  • Advanced technical skills such as SQL and Python with domain knowledge in Pharma (e.g., Research, Clinical Trials, Commercial).
  • Experience supporting or working with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
  • Deep knowledge of data management concepts including metadata management, data quality, master data management, stewardship, and data protection.
  • Experience managing data product lifecycles, including enabling data dictionaries and business glossaries to enhance reusability and literacy.
  • Customer-focused communication skills with ability to engage both internal business stakeholders and external service partners.
  • Capability to manage scrum teams.

Good-to-Have Functional Skills

  • Experience participating in or supporting data governance councils or forums.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices such as Scrum.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective in working with global, virtual teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 8-10 years relevant experience in Data Science, AI, Computer Science, or related fields OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 10-14 years relevant experience OR
  • Diploma with 14-16 years hands-on experience in Data Science, AI/ML technologies, or related technical domains.
