About the Role
In this role, the Data Governance Consultant will be responsible for:
- the development and execution of Data Strategies and Data Governance initiatives of AIA Singapore
- Developing best practice to support business decisions with measurable success to drive business growth, effectiveness and create valuable best practices in the market
- Developing processes, tools and governance framework to harness and manage internal and external data to help business units deliver superior business insights
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute enterprise data governance and data strategy initiatives aligned with the Enterprise Data Roadmap, partnering closely with business data owners and data stewards.
- Establish, implement, and promote data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Lead data quality assessment and improvement programs for critical data elements, leveraging governance tools such as Metadata Management, Master Data Management (MDM), Reference Data Management, and Data Quality platforms.
- Define and maintain enterprise data models and data warehouse structures to ensure alignment with business requirements, scalability, and consistency.
- Drive continuous improvement of data quality, accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness through governance controls, monitoring, and reporting to relevant governance forums.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to strengthen data architecture, data accountability, and data sharing capabilities, while exploring AI-driven solutions (including Databricks AI and Genie) to enhance data governance and business value delivery.
- Coordinate and facilitate governance-related discussions, working groups, and council meetings, including the preparation, consolidation, and presentation of management reporting materials
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline,
- 5-8 years of experience in Data Governance, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality, or related data management functions.
- Strong knowledge of Data Governance frameworks, data quality management, metadata management, data lineage, and enterprise data management principles.
- Hands-on experience with Data Governance platforms such as Data360 and proficiency in SQL, Databricks, Tableau, Power BI, or comparable analytics and BI tools.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, manage, and derive insights from large, complex, and high-volume datasets sourced from multiple systems.
- Experience designing and delivering dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions that enable data-driven decision-making and business performance monitoring.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders at all levels, and successfully deliver multiple initiatives within established timelines.
