The Data Entry Operator & Draftsman will support Bureau Veritas's Risk-Based Inspection implementation for oil & gas and refinery clients.
This role combines technical data management with drafting capabilities to document inspection findings, create technical drawings, and maintain accurate RBI databases. The position is critical for ensuring data integrity, compliance documentation, and effective communication of inspection results to stakeholders.
Co-ordination with Client/ PMC/EPC for daily activities with respect to Field quality & documentation.
Ensure / Perform/ services in line with the End user / PMC/ EPC Quality Assurance System/ISO 17020 requirements, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy
Eligibility
Education
Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Civil Engineering
Or equivalent professional qualification recognized by Indian regulatory bodies
Experience & Technical Skills
Fresher/Minimum 1-2 years in data entry, technical drafting, or inspection support roles
Experience in oil & gas, refineries, petrochemical, or pressure equipment industries
Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent)
Experience with RBI databases or inspection management systems
Familiarity with pressure equipment standards (ASME, PED, API)

Major Responsibilities
Data Entry & Management
Input inspection data, equipment specifications, and risk assessment information into RBI software systems and databases
Maintain accurate records of inspection schedules, findings, and corrective actions
Digitize hard-copy inspection reports, equipment datasheets, and historical records
Verify data accuracy and completeness, flag inconsistencies for review
Update equipment registries, pressure equipment databases, and inspection tracking systems
Manage document control and version tracking for RBI implementation deliverables
Technical Drafting
Create and modify technical drawings (P&IDs, equipment layouts, inspection point diagrams)
Prepare marked-up drawings highlighting inspection locations, findings, and risk zones
Generate visual reports and risk assessment diagrams for client presentations
Coordinate with inspectors to accurately represent field findings in technical documentation
RBI Documentation & Reporting
Prepare inspection reports with data tables, charts, and visual summaries
Compile risk matrices and inspection priority schedules
Create equipment condition assessment summaries
Support development of inspection strategies and frequency recommendations
Assist in generating client deliverables and compliance documentation

Ensure Full Compliance With
Ensure all data entries comply with API 580, API 581, and ISO standards
Perform quality checks on drawings and reports before submission
Maintain confidentiality of client information and proprietary data

Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and Mechanical Integrity programs
Maintain comprehensive documentation and audit trails for regulatory inspections
Coordination & Support
Liaise with inspectors, engineers, and project managers for data clarification
Respond to data requests and generate ad-hoc reports as needed
Participate in team meetings and training sessions
Support software system administration and database maintenance
