Role: Lead Data Engineer - Databricks
Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Databricks Lead with 5+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture. This role is ideal for an expert who brings deep hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), along with a strong foundation in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions. You will be responsible for driving the design and implementation of modern data architectures including data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming systems, while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals. This is a strategic technical role with a strong focus on execution and continuous improvement.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Manage day-to-day data operations ensuring high-quality delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee the maintenance, improvement, and development of ETL pipelines, data governance, and processes.(Dataiku, SQL).
- Should be proficient with Snowflake Analytical SQL queries, complex SQL queries.
- Continuously review, optimize, and enhance data processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk
- Collaborate closely with onshore stakeholders (Data & Analytics leads, Business Units, IT) to define and implement data strategies and solutions
- Translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and relevance of the data services provided.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with onshore and offshore teams to ensure seamless project execution.

- Maintain and publish status reports, and lead governance meetings
- Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality and integrity across the organization.
- Monitor and report on data quality issues, working with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
- Manage the offshore reporting team to develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication with senior leadership and stakeholders on project status, team performance, and any critical issues.
- Develop presentations, reports, and updates for stakeholders that summarize key outcomes, ongoing initiatives, and value delivered
Desired Profile / Skills
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
-5+ years of experience in data engineering, big data, or cloud data architecture roles. Strong expertise in Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake.
-Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale data lakes, warehouses, and streaming platforms.
-In-depth experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including native services and integration patterns.
-Strong coding skills in Python, Scala, or SQL.
-Solid understanding of data governance, security, IAM, and regulatory compliance in cloud environments.
-Experience with tools like Airflow, dbt, or CI/CD pipelines for data.
-Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
