About This Role
We are seeking a Teradata Data Engineer to support and enhance enterprise data platforms within the Software Engineering – BIBDA function. The role focuses on developing and maintaining Teradata-based data load and unload routines, supporting production migrations, and ensuring high service availability through robust design, documentation, and operational discipline.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development of data load and unload routines using Teradata utilities
- Support migration of new and changed software, including preparing and executing production readiness checks
- Create clear and concise Low-Level Design (LLD) documents in consultation with architects and based on provided High-Level Designs
- Design, build and maintain reusable technical frameworks to improve delivery efficiency and consistency
- Provide technical leadership for small projects and enhancements
- Develop and deliver reports using Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Publish daily, weekly and monthly status updates to business users and IT stakeholders
- Manage database refresh and decommissioning activities while maintaining high levels of service availability for Vodafone customers
- Coach junior colleagues and support their technical development
Who You Are
- You have strong knowledge of Teradata architecture, tools and utilities
- You demonstrate advanced proficiency in SQL
- You have good working knowledge of UNIX environments
- You bring 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or database development roles
- You hold a B.E / B.Tech, MCA or M.Sc qualification
- You are able to work collaboratively, document solutions clearly, and follow organisational policies and standards
