Job Description

Job Summary:

TVH is seeking a Data Engineer to join our global team. The team specializes in building and maintaining data pipelines, consolidating and provisioning data from various sources across our different markets and industries, access management and creation of unified schemas and modular architecture.

As Senior Data Engineer you will be the mentor of the team. Along with data engineering you bring in data modelling, data architecture experience to support our stakeholders with designing and implementing robust solutions which are scalable based on future demands. One of the objectives is to ensure the right information is captured, translated and transformed into a data

product that fits the needs of our stakeholders and tools. This data is key for our internal teams to have efficient and effective support towards our customers and also to ensure our customers have a good user experience with the lookup tools we provide.

You will be reporting directly to the Team Manager Data Engineering.

Your Role And Responsibilities

Translating requirements into technical implementation: You will work closely together with our stakeholders to translate the requirements into identified data points from unstructured as well as structured data sources, and start building the puzzle to gather these data points and design the data product which is fit-for-use in our ecosystem.

Data Transformation & Delivery Champion: You will design and develop the entire E2E data delivery process within customer-facing search engines. Acting as an data coding expert within the team, you will focus on building efficient data extraction and transformation methodologies to finally build the high-quality data products.

Analytic-driven problem solver: You are energized to deep-dive into the data domain to untangle the complex data challenges and find the right data connections to translate these into potential resolutions and data models. Resulting in a pipeline design which meets the business requirements and system requirements.

Data Pipeline Engineering: Engineer high-performance, distributed data pipelines for real-time and batch streaming using technologies like Dataflow and GCP. Orchestrate workflows by designing, deploying, and monitoring complex Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) in Apache Airflow

(Cloud Composer).

Continuous improvement believer: You continuously search for potential process and quality improvements throughout the data delivery process, going from project documentation to new (technical) ways of working to improve data quality, boost efficiency and reduce time-to-delivery.

How To Succeed/Your Profile:

Must have

  • Must have 8-12 years of experience in Data engineering
  • GCP Expertise:

○ Cloud Run (Services, Jobs, Functions)

○ Databases: BigQuery, Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL & , Cloud Spanner

○ Cloud Storage

○ Managed Airflow (Cloud Composer)

○ Pub/Sub, Eventarc

○ IAMs: Ability to construct necessary permissions following the principle of least privilege; capability to analyze permission requests for potential security

consequences.

○ Artifact Registry

○ GCP Monitoring and Alerting

○ Secret Manager

○ Vertex AI and Workbench Instances: Setup and permission management.

○ GCP Networking

  • Transformation tool: dbt
  • Architecture: Advanced skills in architecting data pipelines on Cloud (GCP preferred)
  • Programming: Strong Python skills (for data/automation)
  • Project Management & Documentation: Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow
  • You believe that documentation is as important as code
  • Extensive experience with the general principles of databases, data engineering, data

modeling, data transformation and data pipelining.

  • Strong analytical mind and you get energized by resolving complex data problems
  • A good eye for detail and a commitment to deliver high data quality and accuracy
  • Fluent communication (speaking and writing) in English.
  • Creative and enterprising personality who is not afraid to try out new ideas.

Nice to have

  • CI/CD & Version Control: Jenkins, Gitlab
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform
  • Knowledge of Pentaho is a plus
  • Knowledge about DevOps methodologies
  • Data Ingestion & Reverse ETL
  • Affinity with equipment parts and service industry
  • Familiar with project development methodologies such as Scrum (Agile).

Required Education:

Educational Background & Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science,

Software Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Specialized Coursework: Strong academic foundation in Data Engineering, Distributed Systems, Database Management Systems (DBMS), Algorithm Design, and Real-time Computing.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
