Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Data Engineer with deep expertise in Trino (Starburst or Apache) to join our fast-growing data engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale data solutions with a focus on data virtualization using Trino in AWS environments.
Key Skill Focus:
- Trino (Starburst Trino or Apache Trino) Mandatory
Primary Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and optimize Trino clusters for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement and manage data virtualization solutions using Trino in cloud environments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot distributed SQL queries to ensure high performance.
- Configure and manage security for Trino, including LDAP integration and Apache Ranger policies.
- Collaborate with data engineers, cloud architects, and DevOps teams to deliver robust data pipelines and services.
- Automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Apply best practices in data engineering for versioning, release management, and deployment processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience Level: 5+ Years
- Strong hands-on experience with Trino (Starburst or Apache) including:
- Installation & configuration
- Performance tuning
- Security integrations (LDAP, Ranger)
- Distributed query troubleshooting
- Solid knowledge of AWS Cloud Services
- Expertise in data virtualization concepts and implementations
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages:
- Python, SQL, Bash, Node.js
- Linux/Unix shell scripting
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools, including:
- GitHub Actions
- Terraform
- Kubernetes
Nice to Have:
- Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP)
- Exposure to Starburst-specific enterprise features (if not already used)
- Understanding of big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Hive, etc.)
