Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (Telecommunications Domain)

Location: Indian, Remote

Type: 6 months, Extendable

Position Overview-

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in the Telecommunications (Telco) industry to lead and execute data migration initiatives from on-premises environments to cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Databricks, deep knowledge of data engineering best practices, and the ability to collaborate closely with internal teams and external customer stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Migration Strategy & Execution

Design, develop, and implement the data migration strategy from on-prem data warehouses to cloud platforms.

Assess existing data landscapes, identify gaps, and define migration roadmaps.

Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency throughout migration cycles.

Optimize workflows to support large-scale data movement in Telco environments.

2. Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

Build, manage, and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering frameworks.

Develop scalable data processing solutions using Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake.

Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets common in telecom systems (CDRs, network logs, subscriber data, etc.).

Implement data validation, cleansing, transformation, and quality assurance processes.

Technical Skills-

5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.

Proven experience in Telecommunications domain (mandatory).

Proven experience with Delta Live Tables in Databricks (mandatory).

Strong expertise in Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, Notebooks, Workflows).

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).

Proficiency in SQL, Python, and distributed data processing frameworks.

Strong understanding of data modelling, warehouse/lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT, and batch/stream processing.

Experience migrating large data volumes from legacy/on-prem systems to cloud.

Preferred (Good to Have)

Databricks certification(s).

Experience with telecom-specific data models, OSS/BSS systems, or analytics platforms.

Prior involvement in multi-country data migration projects.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps for data engineering
