Data Engineer - SAP BW/4HANA

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• 510 years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on SAP BW/4HANA
• Proven track record in designing, implementing, and supporting SAP BW/4HANA solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within an international team environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance data solutions within SAP BW/4HANA, ensuring data quality and integrity
• Develop efficient ETL processes using ABAP and AMDP within SAP BW/4HANA
• Optimize data models, data flows, and query performance
• Implement and manage automation workflows using tools like Automic
• Troubleshoot data pipelines, including integrations with Hadoop and other sources
• Collaborate with international teams and contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle
• Use tools like Micro Focus ALM and MF Service Manager for tracking and issue resolution
• Write and maintain technical documentation for data solutions and processes
• Manage data exchanges using protocols such as SFTP, FTP, and HTTPS
• Utilize Jira and Confluence for task management and documentation
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and data quality issues
• Stay current with advancements in SAP BW/4HANA and data engineering technologies
• Drive continuous improvement of data engineering methodologies

Technical Skills:

• SAP BW/4HANA (LSA++, data modeling, extraction, transformation, loading)
• ABAP programming for custom routines and logic in BW/4HANA
• AMDP development for optimized data transformations
• Data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes
• Automation tools (preferably Automic) for scheduling and workflow automation
• File transfer protocols (SFTP, FTP, HTTPS)
• SQL for querying and analysis
• SAP HANA (underlying database knowledge)
• Hadoop integration (beneficial)
• SAP BW Query Designer and BEx Analyzer (beneficial)
